Voluntary contribution for consumables 

Voluntary contributions towards consumable costs are essential to help our preschool maintain a rich, high quality learning environment for all children. These small contributions support the purchase of everyday items such as; craft materials, cooking ingredients, emergency snacks, toiletries, sensory resources, and other consumables that enhance play, provide resources for physical development and health and the over-all learning experiences. When families choose to contribute, it enables us to offer a wider variety of activities, replenish resources more frequently, and invest in materials that extend children’s creativity, curiosity, and exploration. While contributions are entirely optional and no child will ever be excluded from activities, the additional support helps the preschool manage rising costs and continue providing engaging, wellresourced opportunities for every child. 

Voluntary contribution for joining fee’s 

Voluntary contributions towards joining fees help the preschool manage the essential administrative and setup costs involved in welcoming new children. These contributions support the setting in maintaining high quality provision, planning staffing levels, and ensuring resources are in place ahead of a child’s start date. When families choose to contribute, it strengthens the preschool’s financial stability and enables more effective forward planning. This, in turn, helps the setting offer parents a greater chance of securing their preferred sessions, as the preschool can allocate places and organise staffing with confidence.

While contributions are entirely optional and no child’s access to a place is dependent on payment, the additional support benefits both the preschool and its families by helping maintain a wellresourced, sustainable, and smoothly run environment. As a gesture of appreciation for the contribution, each new child receives a free welcome gift, which includes a branded preschool Tshirt and water bottle that will be kept on the premises for their personal use.

Voluntary contributions towards preschool resources help us to maintain a rich, stimulating, and wellequipped learning environment for all children. Our staff are always looking to try new and creative engagement with the children, designing activities which enhance their learning and development. As resources and expenses are under a tight regime, we are not always able to grow our curriculum in the ways we would like to. These contributions would not only support us in purchasing new resources, highquality art supplies and materials, but would also allow us to upgrade our sensory items, outdoor play equipment, and educational resources that enhance daily activities and broaden children’s learning experiences.  

When families choose to contribute, it enables the preschool to refresh and expand its resources more frequently, offer a wider variety of engaging opportunities, and manage rising costs without reducing the quality of provision. While contributions are entirely optional and every child will always have equal access to all activities, this additional support strengthens the setting’s ability to provide a vibrant, wellresourced environment where children can explore, create, and thrive.

Helping hands tree

At Yateley Community Preschool we have a Helping Hands Tree that displays small, everyday items and resources we need to support the smooth running of the preschool and to enrich the activities we offer the children. As a charity, even the smallest contribution makes a meaningful difference. When families choose to take a “helping hand” from the tree—whether it’s for craft materials, snacks, cleaning supplies, or items for new learning experiences—it helps us stretch our budget further and invest more into the things that matter most: highquality play, exciting activities, and a wellresourced environment. 

These contributions allow us to refresh materials more often, introduce new activities, and maintain a vibrant, engaging space where children can explore, create, and thrive. Every act of support, no matter how small, directly enhances the children’s daily experiences and helps us continue offering the nurturing, communityfocused provision we are proud of.
